MUHAMMAD BIN MAHZAN was graduated from UiTM and HOTEL CONSULT Swiss Hotel and Catering College, Switzerland in the field of Hotel and Catering Management. He has 35 years experience in the hospitality industry and has attended courses locally and aboard including that at Sorbonne University Paris, Washington State University and Cornell University in the State States.
He is also a certified trainer for DDI Asia / Pacific International for Service Excellence in Hospitality Industry. He was an active member for the Resort World TQM Program and was awarded facilitator of the year for spearheading 5 Quality Improvement Teams of which 2 qualified for the final convention organized by National Productivity Corporation in 1995 and 1996 consecutively. He was the Food and Beverage Manager at Genting Hotel, Genting Highlands Resort, the region’s largest theme park and resort complex. He was the team leader for the successful certification of Genting Hotel ISO 9002 program in 1998. Actively involve in the Malaysian Association of Hotels, Culinary Malaysia as a member of the organizing committee of various disciplines.
He is seeking for more challenging exposure, he the joint Eurest Malaysia, the region’s biggest healthcare catering and services establishment as a General Manager. He was responsible for the few hospitals in Klang Valley in providing healthcare catering and other food services. He was the team leader for Eurest Malaysia’s success in achieving the HACCP Certification for their operation at University Malaya Medical Centre for the year 2002. He left Eurest Malaysia to join Boustead Abela as a General Manager for it’s Malaysian healthcare operations covering few hospitals which include Pantai hospital, Tung Shin, Columbia Pacific in Seremban, Taman Desa hospital as well other catering outlet in KLIA, Menara Exxonmobil and KTM outlets in Seremban and Padang Besar in Perlis.
He vast experiences has led him to be chosen as a team member of Tabung Haji during the last Haj season to monitor the food quality and managing the food production for the Malaysian Jemaah in Mecca and Jeddah respectively. The subsequent year he led a team as a Senior Head of the Quality Unit to monitor the production and service processes for Tabung Haji Authority at the operation venues in Mecca. He was one of the judges for the National Skills Competition for the hospitality division for the last 4 years and was part of the judging team member for judging the Asean Skills Competition in Hanoi in 2004. He was a visiting lecturer for Kolej Antarabangsa Genting for the Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management. Currently involve in the HACCP project for Resort World Bhd as a Consultant of WAN RAYCORD Associates covering food production premises at Genting Hotel & First World Hotel. Teaming up with those high profile food & beverage professional with vast experiences and knowledge’s, it will certainly placing WAN RAYCORD Associates as one of the best consultancy provider in Malaysia for HACCP and other management services. His credentials and experiences earned him to be associated with the Mardi team in the entrepreneurship scheme project focus on the preservation processes and of local fruits and marketing ventures abroad.
