Robert Quake has extensive experience in the field of food and beverage having worked for a MNC which operates the largest holiday resort in Malaysia. He started from rank and file with more than 30 years in the hospitality industry and had great F & B exposure ranging from Coffee House right up to Fine Dining restaurant. He deserved a distinguished mention in the Los Angeles Times under hospitality travel section. He has great passion for gastronomy and penchant for detailed services.
He has worked in high volume Coffee House outlet with an F & B service work force of 100 staff. His other exposures were in the banquet, bar, lounge, premier clubs and a host of other mid scale and high end eateries in the resort – casino premise. His long stint at the Grill Room was attributed to his commendable service skills, meticulous details with a flexi customer oriented traits. He was roped in for the many VVIP and royalty functions.
He was involved in a number of pre openings of new F & B outlets while at the resort. He played an active role as a member of the ISO 9002 development team.
He had a successful stint at the resort’s Hotel Planning Unit to compile, collate and analyse reports for resort wide hotel division performance. The department provides direction; developing and implementing departmental strategies and initiatives; and monitoring the financial and operational performance of department including budget, forecasts, revenue management and guest services. He does selective consulting projects on Hotel and F & B related matters.
He was an active leader of QIT (Quality Improvement Team), finalist team in all the QIT Grand Finals and was part of the organising committee from 1994 – 1999. He was the pioneer batch for the SHATEC and MAH diploma programme in 1994. He was a certified STAR SERVICE facilitator and coordinator with F & B internships. He has attended KEPNOR TREGOE – Management Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills Programme. He had also attended the ServSafe Certification – a mandatory requirement for food handlers as required by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (USA).
He had helmed senior positions as GM at some service apartments in KLCC and Mt Kiara area and had exposure with international fast food franchise chain.
