Pn Zaharin @ Zahreen Hj Ali has more than 30 years of experience as Executive Housekeeper in managing departmental functions and responsibilities besides business management that includes cleaning program design and implementation, team development and facilitation, crisis management and prevention, communication planning, customer needs assessment, yearly budget preparation and assist in business plan and large scale meetings or events planning.

After she completed her Diploma in Hotel & Catering Management from University Teknologi MARA Shah Alam in 1978, she started her career as Housekeeping Supervisor in Golden Sands Beach Resort (Shangri-La Beach Resort). Then, she moved to The Orchid Penang Hotel (Copthrone Penang) as Assistant Executive Housekeeper and Acting Executive Housekeeper. She was appointed to an Executive Housekeeper in The Ferringhi Beach Resort in 1989. Then, she continued her career with the same position at The Labuan Hotel, The Concorde Hotel Shah Alam, Residence Hotel @ UNITEN, Hilton Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, The Saujana Kuala Lumpur and Cyberview Resort and Spa.

She has vast experience in leading the departmental functions and team’s responsibilities in keeping and maintaining the entire building and office are always kept in pristine condition. She also responsible for maintaining the FOQESHMS appropriate standards of cleanliness and orderliness within the back of House and guest areas of the Centre. Along her career, she is responsible for ensuring the planning and implementation of the departmental operational activities, responsibilities and expenses are carried out effectively and in accordance to the guidelines of the Divisional Operational Manual.

She has attended some courses which are The 7 Habit of Effective People; Malaysian Employment Federation Courses; KLTA Tourism Symposium; AIPC Annual Conference & 50th General Assembly in Singapore; ICCA Summit in Thailand; Environmental Quality Act 14001:2004; Advanced Train The Trainer; Understanding & Interpreting OHSAS 18001:1999; English for Hospitality Trainers; Environmental Accounting; Identification of Environmental Aspects & Significant Impacts; Identifying Occupational Safety, Health Hazards and Risk; and Panel for NOSS – Housekeeping, Chief Florist, Laundry since 2011.
