Overview
The MAH Sustainable Hotels & Resorts Roadmap 2026 is MAH Learning’s flagship sustainability initiative developed to support Malaysia’s hospitality industry in building more sustainable, resilient, and future-ready hotel operations. Anchored on the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC)’s Green Hotel Standards, and complemented by Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles as well as Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) readiness, the Roadmap provides hotels and resorts with a structured pathway towards sustainable business excellence.
As sustainability becomes an increasingly important consideration for travellers, corporate clients, investors, regulators, and destination partners, hotels are expected to demonstrate responsible environmental stewardship, sound governance, and positive social impact. The MAH Sustainable Hotels & Resorts Roadmap 2026 enables hospitality organisations to move beyond compliance by embedding sustainability into everyday operations, business strategy, and organisational culture.
Designed specifically for Malaysia’s hospitality industry, the Roadmap adopts a practical and phased approach that allows hotels of all sizes to progressively strengthen their sustainability capabilities. It focuses on improving operational efficiency, reducing resource consumption, minimising environmental impact, enhancing guest experiences, and preparing organisations for future sustainability standards and certification requirements.
