The Malaysian Association of Hotel Training and Education Centre (MAHTEC) has announced a strategic partnership with Aariana Hospitality International, marking a significant step forward in advancing hospitality education across Malaysia. The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on Monday, 17 February 2025 at Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, will ensure continued access to the prestigious American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) certifications for Malaysian hospitality professionals.
The collaboration will see MAHTEC and Aariana combine their expertise to deliver globally recognized AHLEI programs, which are highly respected in the hospitality industry for their rigorous standards and professional credentials. The partnership aims to empower Malaysia’s hospitality workforce, enhance professional development opportunities, and raise the standards of service excellence within the industry.
Impact and Upcoming Programs
Under the MOA, MAHTEC and Aariana will jointly promote, develop, and deliver AHLEI-certified training programs. The partnership will also involve co-creating educational materials, hosting industry events, and expanding professional development opportunities for Malaysian hoteliers.
The first programs under this new collaboration will be:
- Certified Hospitality Manager (CHM): 4–6 March 2025, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
- Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA): 17–20 March 2025, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
Both programs will be key opportunities for hospitality professionals to gain globally recognised qualifications and advance their careers.
